While one expected a gold medal from India in the men’s javelin throw – F46 category, it was a silver and bronze by Ajeet Singh and Sundar Singh Gurjar, respectively. While Ajeet came from behind in his fifth attempt to secure the second position with a throw of 65.52m, the world record holder, Gurjar had to make peace with third-place finish with a best attempt of 64.96m.

Nonetheless, courtesy of these two medals, the Indian contingent medals tally soared to 18. Meanwhile, the reigning world champion, Cuba’s Guillermo Varona Gonzalez took home the gold medal with a personal best effort of 66.14m.
