Para PBKS, es probable que Shashank Singh, Arshdeep Singh, Ashutosh Sharma y Kagiso Rabada sean retenidos antes de la subasta IPL 2025.
After the Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council (GC) meeting on Saturday, we saw a host of changes take place ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The multitude of changes involved new IPL retention rules, salary cap of overseas players, return of RTM cards and much more. While talking about the new rules and IPL auction policies, Punjab Kings (PBKS) CEO Satish Menon lauded the BCCI for making it much more flexible for the IPL franchises.
PBKS CEO credits BCCI for giving ‘preference’ to teams
“It’s great. BCCI has gave all the franchises options. If a franchise wants to retain 6, they have the option too. There is RTM too. So, if anyone wants to release and then retain from auction, they can too. BCCI has given preference to all the franchises,” credited Satish Menon at a show organised by Star Sports. Menon became PBKS’ CEO in 2017. Previously, he was the designated General Manager, Operations at the franchise.
Menon talked about the flexibility that these retention rules have provided the franchises. BCCI has allowed teams to retain a maximum 6 number of players. However, there is no necessity in it. Moreover, franchises can use the retention + RTM combo. For example, if a franchise retains four players, they will go into the IPL 2025 mega auction with two RTM cards. This allows IPL franchises to plan strategically.
IPL 2025 Retention values
- Retained Player 1: INR 18 crores
- Retained Player 2: INR 14 crores
- Retained Player 3: INR 11 crores
- Retained Player 4: INR 18 crores
- Retained Player 5: INR 14 crores
- Uncapped Player: INR 4 crores
- Number of RTM cards = 6 – No. of Retentions.
