Station 19 ran for 7 seasons from 2018 to 2014, ending with 105 episodes of varying degrees of quality and multiple crossovers with Grey’s Anatomy, its parent show. Station 19 was the third Grey’s Anatomy spinoff, following Dr. Ben Warren as he transitioned from surgical residency to firefighting. Unlike the first spinoff, Private Practice, which took place in Los Angeles, Station 19 took place in Seattle. This meant there weren’t just crossover episodes but character appearances throughout both shows.

Station 19 was canceled after 7 seasons, though the finale allowed the series to end on a high note. The series finale wrapped up the characters’ storylines with a flashforward that revealed what happens to them beyond 2024. The relationship between the parent show and the spinoff also allowed a Station 19 character to return for Grey’s Anatomy season 21. While Station 19 left a great legacy as part of the Shondaland universe, but some episodes can be skipped during a first watch or rewatch.

Episode 11, “Baby Boom” – Watch It: A baby is left at SFD Station 19, leading to some hilarious scenes as the firefighters are put on babysitting duty.

Episode 12, “When It Rains, It Pours!” – Skip It: This episode is heavy on romantic storylines, with the actual firefighting pushed too far to the side.

Episode 3, “Eulogy” – Watch It: Station 19 kills off another major character, as flashbacks emphasize how important they were in Andy’s life.

Episode 4, “House Where Nobody Lives” – Watch It: Maya’s big promotion causes juicy tension at SFD Station 19 that won’t go away anytime soon.

Episode 5, “Into the Woods” – Watch It: Maya brings the team on a camping trip that, in Shondaland fashion, is a complete mess. Flashbacks offer an interesting look into Maya’s backstory.

Episode 6, “Ice Ice Baby” – Watch It: Station 19 has its first baby. Of course, the birth happens in the station after a blizzard keeps them from getting to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

Episode 7, “Satellite of Love” – Watch It: Station 19 adds another major character, this time a love interest for Travis. Sullivan’s important addiction storyline reaches a climax.

Episode 8, “Born to Run” – Watch It: Grey’s Anatomy character Amelia Shepherd appears and becomes a mentor to Sullivan. Baby Pruitt is absolutely adorable.

Episode 9, “Poor Wandering One” – Watch It: Station 19 uses more effective flashbacks to dive deeper into the characters’ backstories. The show is unforgiving, as another character is killed off.

Episode 10, “Something About What Happens When We Talk” – Watch It: Station 19 brings in Dr. Diane Lewis, a psychologist and one of the show’s best supporting characters.

Episode 11, “No Days Off” – Watch It: Maya goes on vacation with her new girlfriend, Carina. Maya’s relationship and Teddy’s visit further merge Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy.

Episode 3, “We Are Family” – Watch It: Station 19 continues to shine a light on the opioid crisis. The title is fitting, as the firefighters prove they’re more than just a crew.

Episode 4, “Don’t Look Back in Anger” – Watch It: The episode includes interesting commentary on religion, homophobia, racism, and the importance of COVID-19 protocols.

Episode 5, “Out of Control” – Watch It: A confrontation between the Seattle Police Department, SFD Station 19, and a Black family makes for a powerful episode and another Grey’s Anatomy crossover.

Episode 6, “Train in Vain” – Watch It: Everything gets even more tense in the crossover when an important Grey’s Anatomy character with a strong connection to Station 19 is murdered.

Episode 7, “Learning to Fly” – Skip It: Things are too messy at SFD Station 19. The best parts of the episode are the heartbreaking scenes between Maya and a mourning Carina.

Episode 8, “Make No Mistake, He’s Mine” – Watch It: Carina’s friend and ex-girlfriend visits, creating some interesting dynamics between them and Maya. Vic’s new boyfriend has a rough backstory with Travis.

Episode 9, “No One Is Alone” – Watch It: In a great episode for Travis, Station 19 flashes back to his life with his husband, Michael, who passed away in a fire.

Episode 3, “Too Darn Hot” – Watch It: Seattle has a heat wave that overwhelms the city and the station. Joey’s subplot is a highlight of the

episode.

Episode 4, “100% or Nothing” – Watch It: Dr. Diane Lewis is back to help teach crisis intervention, which eventually grows into the important Crisis One program.

Episode 5, “Things We Lost in the Fire” – Watch It: A Grey’s Anatomy crossover is rarely good news for the characters. Station 19 emotionally kills off another main character.

Episode 6, “Little Girl Blue” – Watch It: The station mourns, but the episode ends on a positive note with a heartwarming Thanksgiving dinner.

Episode 7, “A House Is Not a Home” – Skip It: This episode has too many frustrating storylines, even though it’s great to see more of Bailey and Ben.

Episode 8, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” – Watch It: The Station 19 holiday episodes are once again some of the best, as the team celebrates Christmas together.

Episode 9, “Started from the Bottom” – Watch It: The station has a new fire chief, Natasha Ross. She has a rocky start, but she later becomes an integral part of the series.

Episode 10, “Searching for the Ghost” – Watch It: Station 19 does a good job paying tribute to their fallen character. Vic makes a difficult, heartbreaking decision, adding to her character’s suffering.

Episode 11, “The Little Things You Do Together” – Skip It: The couples are fighting again, which takes away from the firefighting storyline, even with a man threatening to set himself on fire.

Episode 12, “In My Tree” – Skip It: More romantic drama leads to a breakup. Though it’s nice to see Memorial Clinic opening, the cases just aren’t interesting enough.

Episode 13, “Cold Blue Steel and Sweet Fire” – Watch It: Chief Ross makes a pretty harsh decision. Ben and Bailey’s fight for custody of another child is one of the season’s best subplots.

Episode 14, “Alone in the Dark” – Watch It: Travis’ dinner with his boyfriend and his boyfriend’s homophobic parents is entertainingly tense. The episode’s ending is sad and terrifying but starts an important storyline.

Episode 15, “When the Party’s Over” – Watch It: Andy tries to recover from a traumatic event. Things get even worse when Andy is arrested.

Episode 16, “Death and the Maiden” – Watch It: Andy is on trial and Theo joins SFD Station 19. There are more plot twists with Andy and Jack’s respective families.

Episode 17, “The Road You Didn’t Take” – Watch It: Jack’s backstory with his family is always interesting. Travis makes a decision that sets up a major Station 19 season 6 storyline.

Season 6 (2022-2023)

Episode 1, “Twist and Shout” – Watch It: Station 19 season 6 features another time jump. A lot has changed in 6 months and a tornado hits Seattle.

Episode 2, “Everybody’s Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey” – Watch It: Jack and Maya have two of the most compelling, rough storylines this season, and that’s what this episode is all about.

Episode 3, “Dancing with Our Hands Tied” – Skip It: Crisis One disputes are typically well done, but this episode brings back one of the show’s most hated minor couples.

Episode 4, “Demons” – Watch It: Station 19 has a Halloween episode. The station’s event for children is adorable. The corn maze fire brings Halloween horror.

Episode 5, “Pick Up the Pieces” – Watch It: Vic is finally finding where her passion lies as a firefighter. A beloved couple starts to make up but still has a long road ahead.

Episode 6, “Everybody Says Don’t” – Watch It: The Station 19 season 6 winter finale has one of the show’s biggest, most shocking cliffhangers that had viewers anxiously awaiting its return.

Episode 7, “We Build Then We Break” – Watch It: The Station 19 season 6 winter premiere provides important answers about what happened at the end of the previous episode.

Episode 8, “I Know a Place” – Watch It: Everyone’s favorite therapist, Dr. Diane Lewis, is back again. Theo’s backstory finally gets explored outside his friendship with Travis.

Episode 9, “Come as You Are” – Skip It: This is a difficult watch, as multiple characters make bad decisions. It’s hard to have sympathy for Beckett, but that may change.

Episode 10, “Even Better Than the Real Thing” – Watch It: After over a season of frustration, the Station 19 team stands up to Beckett. Things are improving for the fan-favorite couple.

Episode 11, “Could I Leave You?” – Watch It: Station 19 returns to thrilling cases. This episode is action-packed all around. It’s a nice break from personal drama, though it’s still present.

Episode 12, “Never Gonna Give You Up” – Watch It: Theo is a terrible interim captain, and the scenes that have nothing to do with firefighting

actually become a relief.

Episode 13, “It’s All Gonna Break” – Skip It: Unfortunately, Eli and Theo start becoming the villains of Station 19 season 6. Yet, Dixon is even worse.

Episode 14, “Get It All Out” – Watch It: While Theo is still in his reign of terror, Maya and Carina have some great scenes.

Episode 15, “What Are You Willing to Lose” – Watch It: Dixon being a villain works in Ross’ favor, as she turns into more of a hero than an antihero in Station 19 season 6.

Season 7 (2024-2024)

Episode 4, “Trouble Man” – Skip It: Nothing goes right in this episode. It’s upsetting and frustrating. It’s difficult to watch the characters struggle in Station19’s final season.

Episode 5, “My Way” – Watch It: This episode has a dramatic disaster with a fire by the Seattle Space Needle. It also helps give Andy her Station 19 happy ending.

Episode 6, “With So Little To Be Sure Of” – Watch It: Station 19 season 7 is full of tearjerkers. It’s one of Vic’s best episodes, even though it’s also one of her saddest.

Episode 7, “Give It All” – Watch It: Station 19 finally resolves an old Maya storyline after years of waiting. The episode also provides important Native American representation.
