After a long 66-day break, Babar Azam returned on a cricket ground, representing Pakistan for the first time after a diabolical T20 World Cup 2024. It was poor show by the Pakistan T20I skipper, who made 122 runs at a shambolic strike rate of just over 101. He captained a lackluster Pakistan team, who failed to get into the super eights for the first time in T20 World Cup history.

However, it looks like the rustiness has still not left Babar Azam, who got out for a duck in the first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh. The Bangladesh bowlers completely ruled the roost as they rocked the Pakistani lineup quite early. Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood were the first two to go.
Babar then was out for a two-ball duck off a delivery by Shoriful Islam. It was a sliding ball down the leg and got a slight nick off Babar’s bat. Keeper Litton Das did the rest and claimed a fabulous diving catch to send back the former Pakistan Test skipper.
Ever since December 2022, Babar has played 11 Test matches. In this period, he averages 38.80 which is just not up to the mark as per his standards. Out of his, 6 matches have played in Pakistan and three in Australia.
