Not all LEGO Star Wars minifigures are equal as some are far more expensive than others. Although there are a good number of whole LEGO sets with very high price tags, certain minifigures can become so valuable and coveted that they alone can far exceed the price of the model they originally came with. This is especially true of minifigures inspired by the galaxy far, far away with a wide range of characters spanning the entire Star Wars canon and timeline.

Currently, there are just over 1,300 unique LEGO Star Wars minifigures released since the start of the product line back in 1999. In 25 years, several figures have risen in value due to various levels of rarity and popularity across secondary markets such as eBay and the LEGO-specific marketplace known as BrickLink. While not every minifigure can be purchased to then be turned around for a bigger profit later on, there’s a good number of minifigures that have achieved incredible value for collectors looking to sell and invest (or to just keep). To that end, here are the top 15 most expensive LEGO Star Wars minifigures of all time.

20 Captain Rex (With Cloth Pauldron)

2012 was the first release of a P2 Captain Rex LEGO minifigure that came with BARC Speeder with Sidecar (75012). While newer iterations of the minifigure have been released as recently as this year, this version notably comes with a cloth cauldron piece and special print details that have kept this Rex valuable years later. At present, this version of Captain Rex has an average value of just under $200.

19 Commander Fox (With Gray Semicircle)

Another popular clone from The Clone Wars, Commander Fox is also in the top 20 most valuable Star Wars minifigures of all time. Featuring a Phase I helmet, this minifgure of Commander Fox was released in 2008, but was actually a reprinted version to include the gray semicircle on the torso that was missed in the first wave of released figures that came with LEGO Star Wars The Clone Wars Separatist Spider Droid (7681). Currently valued at $200, the original misprinted version is far more valuable (and included later in this list).

18 Darth Malgus

Coming from The Old Republic MMO video game, Darth Malgus got the brick-built treatment in 2012 and was included with LEGO’s Sith Fury-class Interceptor (9500). An impressive Sith Lord with custom molded pieces, it makes sense that the Malgus minifigure is still so valuable due to its unique rarity and popularity. It’s current average value sits at just over $220.

17 Queen Amidala

One of the most unique and iconic LEGO Star Wars minifigures of all time, 2012’s Queen Amidala is quite impressive with custom molds for both the classic crown and hair pieces, as well as the bottom section depicting the Queen of Naboo’s royal dress. Having only been released with 2012’s Gungan Sub (9499), Queen Amidala has an average current value of just over $225.

16 Watto

There have been three different LEGO minifigures of the junkyard dealer Watto since The Phantom Menace. While the more recent two have far more detail, it’s the very first that’s the most valuable with its all-blue mold with an average price of about $250. Having been released in 2001, the first Watto minifigure came with Watto’s Junkyard (7189), the build itself being a blue podracer along with a collection of parts from Watto’s shop.

15 Female Padawan

The 14th most valuable LEGO Star Wars minifigure of all time, Female Padawan was released in 2010 with Yoda Chronicles Holocron Chamber, a 408-piece promotional set given to journalists to promote the premiere of The Yoda Chronicles animated series. To that end, one version of the figure was printed with smaller eyes while another with larger ones. As such, the one with the smaller eyes is the rarer miniature with an average value of $285.

14 Boba Fett (White)

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back, 2010 saw the release of a white-armored Boba Fett minifigure. Coming by itself in its own polybag, this variant of Boba Fett was modeled after the initial concept artwork when the armor was meant to be used for an Imperial commando. However, the color and changes came in when the decision was made for the armor to instead belong to the bounty hunter Boba Fett. As such, the all-white Boba Fett is a unique and very rare minifigure with an average value of about $320.

13 Darth Revan

Hailing from the Knight of the Old Republic games, Darth Revan was a similar promotional polybag minifigure released in 2014. Made available for Star Wars Day (May the Fourth), Darth Revan was (and still is) a highly coveted minifigure of one of the most popular Star Wars characters from the non-canon Legends continuity. To that end, LEGO has recently released Revan’s apprentice Darth Malak as a bonus minifgure for the 25th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars (found in R2-D2 75379).

12 Ahsoka Tano (Rebels)

Modeled after her adult appearance in Star Wars Rebels, there was a significant period of time where the Ahsoka minifigure that came with 2016’s Rebel Combat Frigate (75158) was the only version of the character that didn’t have the controversial “Clone Wars Eyes”. To that end, this unique Ahsoka figure quickly grew in value following the set’s retirement to the point where it’s now worth just below $350, even though other minifigure variants of Ahsoka have since been released over the years modeled after her Clone Wars season 7 appearances and more recently from the live-action Ahsoka series in 2023.

11 Darker Haired Kanan Jarrus (The Ghost)

Having been featured in 2014’s The Ghost (75053), Kanan Jarrus is a leading character in Star Wars Rebels. However, this version of Kanan was only featured in this single set with an original retail price of $89.99. However, what makes this particular version of Kanan so valuable is the darker hair and eyebrows compared to reissues of the set and minifigure which gave him a lighter brown color instead, adding to the rarity and overall value of the character as the 10th most expensive LEGO Star Wars minifigure ever.

10 Shadow ARF Trooper

The Shadow ARF Trooper minifigure was part of a promotional polybag giveaway for LEGO’s 2011 May 4th event celebrating the Star Wars franchise. As such, the minifigure was exclusive to those who spent enough money online to earn the giveaway, which has grown in value exponentially over the years.

9 Princess Leia (Tantive IV)

Future and updated versions of Princess Leia have been released by LEGO in the years since 2009. However, this particular version of Princess Leia Organa from A New Hope was exclusive to 2009’s Tantive IV (10198), making the character a valuable addition to collections due to its rarity with the smooth hair-piece (compared to others that feature more texture).

8 Darth Vader (Chrome Black)

The Chrome Black Darth Vader minifigure was another LEGO promotional exclusive back in 2009. In honor of LEGO Star Wars’ 10th anniversary, only 10,000 Chrome Darth Vader figures were created. They were then inserted at random into various LEGO Star Wars sets that year. Some were also given away as promotional giveaways in a select number of LEGO stores.

Having an average value between $8,708 and $9,940 according to BrickEconomy, sealed models of Cloud City (10123) are incredibly valuable and coveted by collectors, and this includes their figures such as Lando and other figures from the model who’ve become more expensive than Lando himself.

5 Luke Skywalker (Cloud City)

Luke Skywalker (sw0103) also came from Cloud City (10123), explaining his high value since 2003. Dressed in the tan jumpsuit he wore in Empire Strikes Back, this version of Luke still had the yellow head and hands, having been made before LEGO decided to give all minifigures from various licenses their characters’ actual flesh tones.

4 Clone Trooper Commander Fox (Misprint)

The misprinted version of Commander Fox is far more valuable than the corrected version mentioned earlier in this list. Featuring the torso without the gray semicircle, this original version of the P1 Fox is worth just over $820, over 20x more than the $30 retail price of the entire set it came in. It certainly results from the combination of both the rarity of a misprint combined with a more character from The Clone Wars.

3 Finch Dallow (Resistance Pilot)

While it may seem odd, Finch Dallow being the third most expensive LEGO Star Wars of all time all comes down to rarity. Originally, Resistance Bomber (75188) came with a more generic Resistance pilot. However, reissues of the set came with the name “Finch Dallow”, a character who was actually in the Resistance bomber scene from The Last Jedi. That said, the reissued set wasn’t on shelves long before the model ultimately retired, making the figure incredibly rare.

2 Boba Fett (Cloud City)

Featuring the original balaclava helmet style just like Jango Fett, Boba Fett (sw0107) is the most expensive figure from LEGO Star Wars’ most expensive set (Cloud City). A “Cloud City Boba Fett” is the metaphorical white whale of many LEGO collectors with his uniquely printed arms and legs, explaining why its average value is just under $2,800 when the original set had a retail price of just $100.

1 C-3PO (Chrome Gold)

The most expensive LEGO Star Wars minifigure of all time is currently a chrome gold figure of C-3PO. Valued at just over $3000, this gold-plated Threepio was similar to the Chrome Darth Vader, a promotional giveaway celebrating Star Wars’ 30th anniversary where only 10,000 were made and then randomly inserted in various sets that year. On the secondary markets, sealed chrome gold C-3POs can go anywhere between $2,818 and $5,129.
