The veteran announced his retirement from international and domestic cricket on Saturday morning, bringing the curtains down on a glorious career that lasted over a decade. As per Hindustan Times, ‘Gabbar’ relished the times when he batted with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

The great trio of Dhawan-Rohit-Kohli

Having made his debut in the white-ball formats by 2011, Dhawan was India’s go-to opener alongside Rohit Sharma. The trio of Virat Kohli, Rohit and Dhawan at the top have gone on to dominate multiple series and marquee tournaments.

We were part of a beautiful journey together. I clearly remember that Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and I scored 100 centuries in 5 years. Ravi bhai was our coach then,” Shikhar Dhawan told Hindustan Times.

Dhawan scored 23 centuries between June 2013 and 2019 out of the 103 centuries scored by the trio. Virat Kohli scored 49 hundreds while Rohit Sharma added 30 to his name.

In 167 ODIs, Dhawan has amassed 6793 runs with 17 hundreds and 35 fifties to his name. The southpaw has 8499 runs from 122 first-class games as well. He played his last ODI for India in 2022 against Bangladesh. While his last T20I appearance came in 2021, his Test career was done long before in 2018.
