India’s Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secreatry Jay Shah is likely to take up a new role after ended his tenue as the BCCI secreatry. Jay Shah is most likely to become ICC chairman sooner. He will be the fourth Indian to head the ICC office if he become the next president. He will be the youngest to become ICC chairperson.

Jagmohan Dalmiya was the first Indian to serve as ICC President from 1997 to 2000. Following him, Sharad Pawar held the position from 2010 to 2012. In 2016, the ICC abolished the presidency and introduced the role of chairman. Former CSK owner and BCCI President N. Srinivasan led the ICC as chairman, followed by Shashank Manohar, who served from 2015 to 2020.
According to ICC rules for the chairmanship election, the process involves 16 votes, with a simple majority of nine votes (51%) required to win. This is a shift from the previous rule, where a two-thirds majority was needed to secure victory.
