The swashbuckling southpaw is all charged up to return to action in the domestic red-ball tournament and is eager to display his prowess. Jaiswal is a most-likely inclusion in India’s Test XI and is expected to open the batting along with skipper Rohit Sharma in IND vs BAN and other upcoming Test series.
Yashasvi Jaiswal eyes domestic cricket to prepare for Test season
Speaking to PTI ahead of the Duleep Trophy opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal revealed that he was toiling hard in the nets, primarily for the Duleep Trophy and IND vs BAN series. The youngster said that playing in domestic tournaments like Duleep Trophy and Irani Cup boosted his confidence while also helping him perform well in international games. He added that it was an advantage to play intense domestic games before a Test series.
“Domestic tournaments like Duleep Trophy and Irani Trophy are very important games and it gives me a lot of confidence and helps me prepare for those (international) games,” he said.
