India’s javelin thrower, Navdeep Singh, wins a historic silver medal for India in the Men’s Javelin Throw F41 event at the ongoing Paris Paralympics. The event took place at Stade de France on Saturday. The athlete from Haryana achieved the best throw of 47.32m.
First Paralympic medal for Navdeep Singh
This is Navdeep Singh’s first-ever Paralympic medal. Earlier, in the Tokyo Paralympics, he missed a medal by coming fourth in the javelin throw event. In his career, he won gold at the Asian Youth Para Games and the World Para Athletics Grand Prix in 2021.
India’s 29th medal at Paralympics
This is India’s 28th medal at the Paris Paralympics. India has now secured 6 gold, 10 silver, and 13 bronze medals at the event. In the Tokyo Paralympics, India won 19 medals, but this time, they made history by winning more than 25 medals.
