Después de la exitosa subasta de la temporada 11 de PKL, donde muchos nombres de gran calidad obtuvieron mucho dinero de las franquicias, pero ¿sabes quiénes son los jugadores más caros de la historia de PKL?
The PKL Season 11 is just around the corner, with the first game of PKL 2024 scheduled for October 18, 2024. Not long ago, in August, we saw the PKL auction where franchises spent massive amounts on players, with many fetching attractive prices. Although this is not the first time we’ve seen players getting high bids in popular leagues, PKL also has a history of awarding substantial sums to top players. So, who are the big names that have gained prominence due to their on-field kabaddi attributes and also attracted attention at the auction table? Here are the top three names.
Most expensive players in PKL
Pawan Sehrawat
It was superstar raider Pawan Sherawat who crossed the 2 crore bracket and became the most expensive buy, with Tamil Thalaivas picking him up for INR 2.26 crore. Believe it or not, it was a historic bid. However, Sherawat couldn’t capitalize on this opportunity as he suffered a knee injury against Gujarat Giants in the first game, which kept him out for the entire season. Ultimately, he was released by the franchise. For Season 10, Sherawat will be seen playing for Telugu Titans in Season 11.
Mohammadreza Chiyaneh
The big name is surprisingly not an Indian kabaddi star. It was Iranian defender Mohammadreza Chiyaneh, who remains the most expensive foreign player in the history of the Pro Kabaddi League. Last season, champion Puneeri Paltan picked him up for an unbelievable amount of 2.35 crore. Their buy proved successful on the field as well, the stylish Iranian defender scored the most tackle points with 99 points and also made the most successful tackles, totaling 97 points.
Sachin Tanwar
Now, coming to the recently held PKL 2024 auction, another player has crossed the 2 crore bracket: Sachin Tanwar, considered one of the finest raiders, is all set to play for Tamil Thalaivas. The team picked him up for a whopping Rs. 2.15 crore on Day 1 of the PKL 2024 auction. Known for his raiding skills, Tanwar, who has previously played for Patna Pirates and Gujarat Giants, started with GG, where he emerged as a key player and consistently made his mark. In his first two seasons, his name was consistently among the top 10 raid point scorers in the league. It will be interesting to see how this upcoming season unfolds for this Kabaddi player.
