No Gus Atkinson for ENG vs AUS ODIs
Gus Atkinson grabbed the spotlight after coming into England’s Test side following the retirement of veteran James Anderson. He had a memorable first outing against the West Indies as he grabbed 7/45 and 5/61 in the game, establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with. He didn’t stop there as he went on to take 10 more wickets in ENG vs WI series. He finished his debut series with 22 wickets to his name.
Atkinson added 12 more wickets to his name in ENG vs SL series, taking his total Test wickets tally to 34 in just two series. He also played a crucial role with the bat, scoring 118 runs in the 2nd Test at Lord’s, etching his name in the record books. With Atkinson considered as Anderson’s apt replacement, England will want to tread carefully and manage the pacer’s workload effectively.
