Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan made the most of his opportunity on his red-ball comeback as he scored a brisk fifty. The southpaw was included in India C’s XI in the last minute after his name was missing from the updated squads announced by the BCCI. Kishan had missed the opening round match of Duleep Trophy after reportedly suffering an injury.

The Duleep Trophy marks Ishan Kishan’s return to domestic red-ball cricket after a long hiatus. Earlier this year, the southpaw was snubbed from the BCCI’s Central Contracts list following his decision to skip Ranji Trophy. Despite Kishan providing a reason for skipping the tournament, he bore the brunt of the selectors who had specifically insisted all the players to participate in the domestic tourney.
