India’s unwillingness to travel to Pakistan

India last traveled to Pakistan in 2008 for the Asia Cup following which geopolitical tensions between the two nations has forced the former to boycott cricket in Pakistan. With Jay Shah set to take charge as ICC chairman in December, it remains to be seen if Pakistan will be able to retain the hosting rights completely. It also remains to be seen if a hybrid model will be adopted for the event, given that India has been vocal about its concerns and unwillingness to travel to the neighbouring nation.

According to the Champions Trophy 2025’s draft schedule, India will play all of their matches at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The same venue where the semifinals and finals would be played.
