Imagine a father favoring his son over his daughter, neglecting her needs. That’s how the Pakistan women’s cricket team must feel, as they’re not even receiving a daily wage allowance during their current camp in Multan. The Fatima Sana-led team is gearing up for a three-match T20I series against South Africa before the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, yet the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) seems more focused on preparing for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, seemingly overlooking the needs of their women’s side.

According to ESPNcricnfo, the Pakistan women’s team is dismayed over not getting any allowance during their preparation camp ahead of a packed T20 season. While they are receiving accommodation facilities and three meals a day, the players have been denied any sort of wages.
With this, the state of aggravation is bound to come to the fore. The anger also builds from the fact that PCB does not have the same rules for men’s team. Instead, the men’s team was offered daily allowances over and above the accommodation and any food provided during their recent camp before the Test series against Bangladesh.

PCB not giving daily allowance to their women’s side doesn’t mean that they are devoided of any financial assistance. In fact, it was only yesterday when PCB sanctioned a whopping 12.8 billion PKR or INR 385 crores for the upgradation of the three stadiums in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi to help meet the international standards that are required to host a big tournament like the Champions Trophy!
