The Best Classes To Use In Diablo 4 Season 6, Ranked

Diablo 4 Season 6, released alongside the Vessel of Hatred DLC, is here and players will likely want to know which classes are the best ones to deal with the new mechanics. With some fairly massive gameplay changes in this Season, players can look forward to figuring out how the new classes work. You can look at these picks for the best builds so far in Season 6, but some of this will change as the Season evolves and players figure out new combinations.

With a brand new class in Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred, players will have a different challenge when it comes to figuring out which class is the best. Figuring out a brand-new class is always fun, and it adds some variety to a game that might have started to feel boring to some older players. With so many new mechanics and new things in this Season, the game feels very fresh and you can start over quite easily.

6 Druid

Nerfed Landslides

Ranked last by YouTuber Rob2628, there are just not as many S-tier builds for the Druid as there once were. The main reason for the Druid’s placement here is that while there are more builds that can clear Pit 100 among other classes, there is only one Druid build that can reach that same place at the moment, although even in that instance it cannot quite keep up with the other classes.

You’ll need to speak with Sihek to progress through Diablo 4’s Vessel of Hatred DLC. Here’s how to trigger the interaction and fix any bugs.

The best build for Druid right now is known as the Landslide Druid, as the other versions of it were nerfed. Stormslide and Nature’s Fury are not working quite as efficiently as they were before, but you can still build a strong version of this using a more traditional Landslide build. The main issue with it and why it is not as strong as others is that it will not level up as quickly and it will not make it as quickly into some of the harder areas of the game.

Skill/Specialization/Passive

Nerf/Buff

Pulverize

Nerf: Lucky Hit Chance reduced from 33% to 25%

Lightning Storm

Buff: Damage increased from 32% to 40%

Grizzly Rage

Buff: Damage bonus increased from 5/10/15% to 6/12/18%

Obsidian Slam

Nerf: Kills required for bonus increased from 10 to 20

Calm Before The Storm

Nerf: Lucky Hit Chance reduced from 15% to 10%

Electric Shock

Buff: Damage bonus increased from 5/10/15% to 6/12/18%

Shockwave Aspect

Nerf: Damage reduced from 90%-130% to 60%-100%

Crashstone Aspect

Nerf: Critical Strike Damage reduced from 40-50% to 30-40%

Lightning Dancer’s Aspect

Buff: Flat damage increased from .5-.6 to .7-.8

However, if you are flexible and willing to play around with your build, you can tailor it to each piece of the leveling process in Diablo 4, allowing you to flex and create a more precise version of the Druid as you level up for the area that you are in. With any luck, this class will not struggle as much to keep up as updates are released.

5 Barbarian

Slow-Going

Barbarians were nerfed in recent updates, and they remain sadly near the bottom of the class pack due to not having the best builds. They do have a few nice builds that can be used for this Season, but it is simply not as heavy-hitting as it was in the past. You can still make early pushes with this build as YouTuber Rhykker points out, particularly at lower levels, but it just does not hold up to other classes.

Skill/Specialization/Passive

Nerf/Buff

Challenging Shout

Nerf: Damage Reduction gained from Skill Ranks reduced from 4% to 2%

Bold Chieftain’s Aspect

Buff: Cooldown reduction per nearby enemy reduced from 2.7 – 5.4 seconds to 1.0 – 1.9 seconds. Maximum cooldown reduction from 12 to 6 seconds.

Aspect of the Dire Whirlwind

Nerf: Increased Critical Strike Chance per second reduced from 5-10% to 3-8%. Maximum Critical Strike Chance bonus reduced from 20-40% to 9-24%.

Gohr’s Devastating Grips

Nerf: Explosion damage gained from Whirlwind reduced from 50-70% to 16-26%. Damage against wreckable objects no longer increases explosion damage. Explosion damage is only increased by the first 100 hits of Whirlwind.

The main build that is still going to want to go Barbarian is known as the “Mighty Throw Barb” which takes advantage of the Barbarian’s tornadoes in conjunction with Andariel to do a lot of damage. Once you get the Life per Hit trigger, you can get Starlight and Fury, which generates even more tornadoes. This allows your character to become a whirlwind of tornado damage, and it is a decent build.

Many of the builds mentioned could change as the Season progresses and the best and worst classes will likely change as well. That being said, all classes are playable, some can just do more damage than others.

You can also look at a potential Earthquake Build that can still break Pit 100, but it is not the best build at the moment. With any luck, they will fix some of the nerfed content or make something new for Barbarians soon.

4 Necromancer

Bone Spirt Still Strong

While the previous two classes have been nerfed, this class only continues to get buffed. There have been a lot of changes in the recent updates to this class, and it is only getting stronger. It has one of the better builds for the late-game push, but it can struggle with getting to that endgame. It will not be as great for speed farming or leveling fast, but if you want to kill an endgame boss with tons of damage at once, this is the potentially broken Necromancer build to go with in Diablo 4.

The Bone Spirit Necromancer Build is the best one to
get the highest damage single hit
in the game.

The Necromancer has received a Soul Rift ultimate, which gives you a powerful new option. The Necromancer Minions have also received some powerful buffs, making them even more viable as damage dealers than before. Additionally, a new Soul Rift build could prove to make its way into the A-Tier to show off some of these new aspects, as demonstrated by YouTuber Fextralife in this video.

Skill/Specialization/Passive

Nerf/Buff

Blood Lance

Buff: damage increased from 67.5% to 80%

Army of the Dead

Buff: Damage increased from 30% to 45%. Cooldown reduced from 90 to 70 seconds.

Blood Wave

Buff: Damage increased from 90% to 120%

Shadowblight

Buff: Damage increased from 20% to 22%

Grim Harvest

Buff: Essence gained reduced from 3/6/9 to 2/4/6

Serration

Buff: Critical Strike Chance reduced from .5/1/1.5% to .3/.6/.9%

Death’s Defense

Buff: Maximum Minion Life lost in a single damage instance reduced from 75/60/45% to 60/45/30%

Raise Skeleton

Buff: Skeleton Warrior attack damage increased by 10%

Golem

Buff: Golem attack damage increased by 10%

Blood Golem

Buff: Blood Golem Life drain damage increased from 40% to 90%. Blood Golem Life drain healing from enemies hit increased from 4% to 5%.

Iron Golem

Buff: Iron Golem slam damage increased from 25% to 175%. Iron Golem shockwave damage increased from 30% to 40%.

Hulking Monstrosity

Buff: Golem Life and damage bonus increased from 30% to 40%

Cult Leader

Buff: Golem Life and damage bonus increased from 30% to 40%

While it has these seemingly OP builds and strong buffs, it remains slow. This means it cannot quite keep up with the faster classes in the list, but it is by no means bad. This class can take you quite far into the Pit and you will want to keep your eye on it for the endgame.

3 Rogue

Fast But Less Deadly

Rogue is still one of the best ranged and speed farming classes in the game, and it has a lot of great options for strong builds. However, the Rogue can struggle with bossing and pushing toward the endgame, which makes it a little less viable than the highest-tiered options.

Skill/Specialization/Passive

Nerf/Buff

Twisting Blades

Nerf: Advanced Twisting Blades Cooldown reduction per enemy hit reduced from .25 to .1 seconds. Advanced Twisting Blades maximum Cooldown reduction reduced from 3 to 2 seconds.

Rapid Fire

Buff: Damage increased from 24% to 30%

Dark Shroud

Nerf: Damage Reduction per shadow gained from Skill Ranks reduced from .8% to .4%

Dash

Nerf: Enhanced Dash Critical Strike Damage bonus from 20% to 15%

Caltrops

Buff: Damage increased from 30% to 40%

Concussive

Nerf: Critical Strike Chance reduced from 5/10/15% to 4/8/12%

Repeating

Buff: Maximum Minion Life lost in a single damage instance reduced from 75/60/45% to 60/45/30%

They have nerfed some of Rogue’s signature moves, like Dance of Knives, but there are still plenty of top builds that you can use. The Spin To Win Build is one of the best builds to speed farm and feels fun, especially if you like to move fast. You can see a full breakdown of this build particularly in YouTuber M1PY’s video, which shows how you can use the Rogue class to clear out Infernal Hordes in Torment IV.

There is some contention as to which is better and has more options between Rogue and Necromancer, with different content creators and players having them ranked quite differently. However, they both have a lot of options for opposite goals, so if you want to clear bosses easily, you will likely lean toward Necromancer, while if you want to speed farm, you will want to go Rogue. However, there are some builds, like the Death Trap Rogue or a Poison build that can still take out bosses quite easily, so don’t dismiss this class out of hand.

2 Sorcerer

Nerfed But Still Overpowered

While this class was also heavily nerfed, the nerf could not fully take down a build that was overly strong before. Despite these nerfs, it still remains one of the strongest classes in the game, and there are plenty of examples of it being used as an endgame build that can still push toward clearing Pit 100. While the former Lightning Spear build might have taken a hit, there is still evidence to suggest it can clear out enemies very fast.

Vessel of Hatred picks up the main story of Diablo 4 where the base game left off, and features an emotionally charged ending and final battle.

There is also a new build using Elemental Constellation, which is new to the game for this Season, and you can maximize it to get a single-target build. There is also a very strong Chain Lightning build utilizing the Elemental Constellation, shown off by YouTuber Roxy in this video, that shows how players can take on some of the new areas in the game.

Skill/Specialization/Passive

Nerf/Buff

Arc Lash

Nerf: Lucky Hit Chance reduced from 30% to 14%. Glinting Arc Lash Cooldown reduction reduced from .25 to .15 seconds.

Teleport

Nerf: Shimmering Teleport’s Damage Reduction duration reduced from 5 to 3 seconds

Aspect of Control

Nerf: Bonus damage reduced from 30-40% to 25-35%

While there are two main builds that can take on speed farming and bosses, the Sorcerer still does not quite reach the same levels as the last class on the list. This is partially due to the nerf, but it is also due to the fact that the newest class seems to be the most overpowered.

1 Spiritborn

Overpowered New Class

By far, almost everyone is in agreement that the newest Spiritborn class is the best one for Season 6. There are already at least three builds for this class that are resting in the S-Tier position, and they are all mainly uncontested. It is considered extremely well-designed and has good synergy and combinations. It can do speed farming and bossing, and you can hit your max level quite fast.

Even with three builds in S-Tier, there are another three resting in A-Tier where some of the other classes top out. The Quill Volley Eagle Build is one of the best ones in the game, and it can do whatever you need to do in the game. It can take on the Pit over level 100 and can get you the speed farming tools you need. There are a lot of great, fun options with this new class, and players have typically been reporting that it feels smooth.

You must own the
Vessel of Hatred
DLC to get the Spiritborn class.

To see how this class works, check out YouTuber Rob2628’s video on the subject. He actually has several different build videos for the Spiritborn class, all of which highlight something slightly different. The newest build to emerge is the Overpower Build, which does some of the highest damage in the game. And those are the best classes in Diablo 4 Season 6.
