Lincoln Lawyer Show Cast, Character & Book Changes Guide

Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer takes a new look at the characters that have already appeared in book. The hit legal drama adapts the books by Michael Connelly. Season 1 is based primarily on Michael Connelly’s The Brass Verdict, season 2 adapts The Fifth Witness, and season 3 follows the story of The Gods of Guilt. Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer adaptation features major book characters, and some new figures have been thrown into the mix. At the center, The Lincoln Lawyer show follows criminal defense attorney Mickey Haller Jr. who re-enters the legal profession after recovering from a substance use disorder.

With the help of his two ex-wives, Mickey juggles multiple new cases, including the high-profile murder trial involving Trevor Elliot in season 1, a wealthy video game designer; Lisa Trammel in season 2, a restaurateur accused of killing a powerful business executive; and Julian La Cosse in season 3, a sex work facilitator accused of killing Glory Days. The Lincoln Lawyer cast includes a wealth of mainstay characters who make up Mickey Haller’s team, his friends and family, and clients and opposing members of law enforcement and the legal system.

Manuel Garcia-Rulfo As Mickey Haller

Actor: Manuel Garcia-Rulfo was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, and he got his big break playing Vasquez in the 2016 movie The Magnificent Seven. In 2024, Garcia-Rulfo won the Imagen Award for Best Actor in a Drama (Television) for his role as Mickey Haller in Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer, his first acting award.

Actor: Angus Sampson was born in Australia, and he got his big break in 2010 when he was cast as Tucker in the Insidious movies. In addition to building a robust acting portfolio, Sampson works as a writer and director. His most notable writing and directing project was The Mule, which he also starred in. Besides Cisco in The Lincoln Lawyer, his best-known role is Organic Mechanic in the Mad Max movies.

Aside from ANTM, Dacosta is known for her role as April Sexton in Chicago Med, which she continued from 2015 to 2022. She also appeared in the shared universe shows Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D.

Jazz Raycole As Izzy Letts

Actor: Jazz Raycole was born in Stockton, California, and she got her big break in 2000 when she was cast as Claire Kyle in My Wife and Kids. Raycole started her career as a dancer and continued on this path until she sustained an injury, which led her to shift her focus towards acting. Character:Jazz Raycole plays the part of Izzy Letts, a new character devised for Netflix’s adaptation of The Lincoln Lawyer. Izzy Letts is a defendant whose case Mickey gets dismissed, and she pays his fee by acting as his driver. As a fellow recovering addict, the two also help each other to keep from relapsing. Izzy takes the place of Patrick Henson in The Brass Verdict, switching out the pro-surfer with a queer woman of color.

New Characters In The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3

• Devon Graye as Julian La Cosse: In The Lincoln Lawyer season 3, Julian La Cosse is the man accused of murdering Glory Days, who is seeking out Mickey’s help. Gray got his first acting role in 2006 and got his big break playing Teenage Dexter in the series Dexter. He’s also known for acting in Nope (2022), 13 Sins (2014), and I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore (2017).
• Allyn Moriyon as Eddie Rojas: In The Lincoln Lawyer season 3, Eddie Rojas is a family friend who gets into legal trouble. Moriyon started acting in 2023, and his only credit before The Lincoln Lawyer is in a short film called The Only “T” in Skechers.
• Holt McCallany as Neil Bishop: Niel Bishop is the DA’s investigator throughout The Lincoln Lawyer season 3. Though Bishop got his first onscreen role in 1986, it took 30 years of working in Hollywood to get his big break playing Bill Tench from 2017 to 2019 in the cast of Mindhunter. Since then, he’s gained recognition for his former roles in Fight Club (1999), Lights Out (2011), and Shot Caller (2017).
• John Pirrucello as William Forsythe: Throughout The Lincoln Lawyer season 3, Mickey goes up against a new prosecutor named William Forsythe. Pirrucello got his first acting role in 1996 and had his big break in 2013, playing Nick Stavros in Phil Spector. He’s best known for acting in Incarnate (2016), Twin Peaks (2017), and Barry (2018-2019).
• Merrin Dungey as Judge Regina Turner: In The Lincoln Lawyer season 3, Judge Regina Turner is the compassionate judge who presides over the Glory Days murder case. Dungey got her first professional acting role in 1995 and had her big break in 1999 when she was cast as Kelly Palmer in the sitcom The King of Queens, a role she continued until 2007. • Wolé Parks as David Lyons: In The Lincoln Lawyer season 3, David Lyons stands by his life partner Julian La Cosse through the Glory Days trial. Parks started acting in 1999 and got his big break playing Dallas Griffin from 2007 to 2008 in the daytime soap opera As the World Ends. • Michael Irby as Agent James De Marco: Throughout The Lincoln Lawyer, James De Marco is a DEA agent who makes Mickey’s life harder. Irby started acting onscreen in 1997 and got his big break playing Charles Gray in The Unit from 2006 to 2009. He’s best known for acting in Mayan M.C. (2018-2023), Fast Five (2011), and Barry (2018-2023).

Neve Campbell as Maggie McPherson: Neve Campbell plays Maggie McPherson in The Lincoln Lawyer cast, a role played by Marisa Tomei in the 2011 movie. As a prosecutor, Maggie earned a reputation for being ruthless. She is also Mickey’s first ex-wife, and the pair have a daughter together. Campbell is best known for her role as Sidney Prescott in the Scream franchise. While she skipped out on the 2023 Scream sequel, she has been hard at work on a new TV series, appearing as Raven in the 2023 video game adaptation of Twisted Metal.

Lana Parrilla as Lisa Trammell: Lana Parrilla joins The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 as Lisa Trammel, a restaurant owner accused of murdering a high-profile business executive in LA. Mickey’s relationship with Lisa quickly complicates the case. Parrilla is best known for playing Regina Mills in Once Upon a Time, as well as work in Spin City, Lost, 24, and Six Feet Under.

Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Detective Raymond Griggs: Detective Raymond Griggs is a member of the LAPD and is played by Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine in The Lincoln Lawyer cast, investigating the murder of Jerry Vincent. Detective Griggs replaces the character of Hieronymus “Harry” Bosch, the lead character of Michael Connelly’s earlier novel series. Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine is known for his role as Ronnie Davis in The Chi and will appear as Gaius in the upcoming miniseries Washington Black.

Elliot Gould as Devin Jones: While only appearing in a brief cameo role in The Lincoln Lawyer cast, Elliot Gould plays Mickey’s father’s law partner, a character created for Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer series. Elliot Gould has had an extensive career, including Trapper John McIntyre in M*A*S*H, Reuben Tishkoff in the Ocean’s movies, and Philip Marlowe in the adaptation of the Raymond Chandler novel The Long Goodbye. He also earned an Oscar nomination for his role in Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice in 1969.Krista Warner as Hayley Haller: Krista Warner portrays Hayley, the daughter of Mickey and Maggie. The actress is set to appear as Young Lisa in the TV series Middle of Nowhere.

Jamie McShane as Detective Lee Lankford: Jamie McShane’s Lee Lankford is first seen as a detective who is opposed to lawyers and biased against Haller, then as an investigator, and then in a more villainous role involved in both Mickey and Maggie’s cases. Jamie McShane is known for his role as Cameron Hayes in Sons of Anarchy and as Eric O’Bannon in Netflix’s Bloodline. In 2022, he returned to Netflix with the significant role of Sheriff Donovan Galpin in the Addams Family spinoff series Wednesday.

David Clayton Rogers as Russell Lawson: David Clayton Rogers joins season 2 as Russell Lawson, a new client that tests Mickey’s career. Rogers previously worked on Mayans MC, Blindspot, and Shameless.

Fiona Rene as Gloria Dayton (aka Glory Days): Fiona Rene plays Gloria Dayton, a sex worker that Haller needs to testify in a case. Rene played Lyla in I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Douglas Bennett as Kaz: An old friend of Cisco’s that complicates his past with the Road Saints in season 2. Bennett is best known for playing Orlin West in Sons of Anarchy.

Matt Angel as Henry Dahl: Matt Angel appears in season 2 as Henry Dahl, a podcaster interested in Lisa’s case. He recently worked on The Wrath of Becky and Dave.

Michael Graziadei as Jeff Golantz: Michael Graziadei stars as Jeff Golantz, the prosecutor in the Trevor Elliott case. The actor has had roles in The Magicians as Raylan Cortez, True Detective as Dan O’Brien, and the Watchmen miniseries as Carmichael.

Christopher Gorham as Trevor Elliott: Christopher Gorham plays Trevor Elliott, the video game developer accused of killing his wife in season 1. Gorham is known for his roles as Bob Barnard in the series Insatiable and as Bobby in 2 Broke Girls. He also portrayed Johnny Carson in 2020’s One Night in Miami.

Chris Browning as Teddy Vogul: Teddy Vogul is the head of the Road Saints and has a hold on Mickey over having let Cisco leave the group. Chris Browning played Serling in Netflix’s Bright. Interestingly, he also had a role in the Prime Video series Bosch, which takes place in the same fictional world.

Saul Huezo as Jesus Menendez: Jesus Menendez is portrayed by Saul Huezo in The Lincoln Lawyer cast. Huezo played Oscar in Lincoln Heights.

Jon Tenney as Mickey Haller Sr.: In The Lincoln Lawyer’s flashbacks, Jon Tenney plays Mickey Haller Sr., Mickey’s father. Tenney played Behan in Tombstone and Howard Anderson in Legion.
