England have released their playing XI for the crucial third Test against Pakistan, which is set to start on Thursday in Rawalpindi. With the three-match series tied at 1-1, both teams will be eager to win the series from here in the deciding Test. England have made two key changes to their lineup.

Rehan Ahmed makes a comeback

Rehan Ahmed has been brought into England’s squad for the deciding Test, making his return after a nine-month hiatus. He last played in February against India in Rajkot during the third Test. England lost the second Test against Pakistan in Multan, prompting these changes.

Two changes in England’s XI

Leg-spinner Ahmed and seamer Gus Atkinson have replaced Brydon Carse and Matt Potts in the lineup. With Rawalpindi expected to offer a turning pitch, England have opted for three spinners. Ahmed, Shoaib Bashir, and Jack Leach, alongside the lone frontline seamer, Atkinson.

A balance of experience and youth

Captain Ben Stokes will lead a side that combines seasoned players and young talent. Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett will open the batting, followed by Ollie Pope, Joe Root, and Harry Brook. Jamie Smith retains his place, while Jack Leach will spearhead the spin attack alongside Ahmed. Shoaib Bashir completes the bowling department.

As the teams gear up for this all-important match, England will be keen to end the series on a winning note after strong performances in the earlier Tests. Both sides will look to make the most of the Rawalpindi conditions and claim the series.
