Gunther – Damian Priest face-off
The Ring General kicked off Monday Night Raw as he made his way to the ring. WWE announced the official title match between Gunther and Damian Priest, which would take place at the upcoming Survivor Series PLE on November 30. Gunther picked up the mic and stated that all that mattered was that he was still the Heavyweight Champion.
The champion said that he didn’t look back and only focused on the future, and his focus was now on Damian Priest. Priest’s music hit as he made his way to the arena to confront the champion. Priest declared that he was here and that the champ should talk to him face-to-face.
He then berated Gunther, listing off reasons for his disdain. Damian claimed that it was because of his “brother” (Finn Balor) betraying Gunther that the champion still held the title.
Priest continued, saying he believed the champion had lost his invincibility bit by bit and was now full of doubt, pointing out that Gunther had been pinned by Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel.
He further mocked Gunther, stating that the “killer” was dead because the champion, in the past, would have taken a shot at him by now. The challenger warned the champion that if he did take a shot at him, he wouldn’t hold back in beating him down.
Ludwig Kaiser entered and reminded Priest that Gunther had already beaten him. He told him to get out of Gunther’s ring and save himself. Kaiser claimed that Priest wasn’t worthy, but Gunther grabbed the mic and began yelling at Kaiser.
In response, Kaiser snatched the mic from the champion’s hand and declared he wouldn’t hold back against the “street trash,” just as Priest took a shot at Kaiser. Priest then punched Kaiser out of the arena before turning to face Gunther.
There was visible doubt on the face of the champion as he hesitated to attack Priest, ultimately choosing to leave the ring. Priest stood in the ring as Gunther and Kaiser exited the arena.
