Sherwood has emerged as one of the most recent and most compelling series of this kind that also has the added thrill of having a true-crime connection. Season 2 continues to explore these tensions as they once again boil over into violence and mistrust. Following the success of Reacher, another formidable literary hero is now headlining his own detective show on Amazon Prime Video. Cross brings James Patterson’s recurring hero from his novels, Alex Cross, to the small screen in this new thriller. Morgan Freeman and Tyler Perry have previously played Cross in movies, but this time it is Aldis Hodge taking over the role as the brilliant forensic expert and detective who attempts to get into the minds of serial killers.

The show will explore Cross, not only as the dedicated and borderline-obsessive detective but also as a loving family man. This aspect of his personality can sometimes conflict with the dark realities of his job. It seems as though each season of the show, should it continue, will deal with a new serial killer arc. The first season was an intense and gripping crime story that was mixed with a lot of humor as these flawed by likable characters struggle to pull off the perfect crime. Bad Sisters season 2 continues to cement that the crime was not so perfect. The sisters continue to clean up after themselves, and the police and other interesting parties begin to grow suspicious.
