As all would now know that Ravichandran Ashwin has conducted a successful auction of his auction. Yes, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) released spinner organised his own Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mock auction, where the demand for Indian pacers went through the roof. Two of the most premier Indian pacers that will go under the hammer on November 24-25 are Mohammed Shami and Arshdeep Singh, who both got huge deals at Ashwin’s mock IPL auction.

Ashwin mock IPL Auction: Shami goes to RR but GT use RTM

In this fans-driven auction, Mohammed Shami sparked huge bidding war. With his base price of Rs 2 crore, Shami got the first bid from the Delhi team before Rajasthan Royals (RR) got hold of Shami for Rs 11.50 crore. But then, Ashwin, the auctioneer himself, asked the Gujarat Titans (GT) if they would use their Right to Match (RTM) card on Shami. GT duly agreed and snapped their IPL 2022 star for Rs 12 crore.

The veteran has made his much-awaited return in competitive cricket, that too, with a seven-wicket haul in the game. Despite missing out for an entire season, Shami is still the leading wicket-taker among pacer for GT. In 33 innings for the franchise, Shami mustered 48 wickets at an average of 21.04. He knows the franchise in-and-out and would be ideal candidate for the Gujarat Titans.

Ashwin mock IPL Auction: Arshdeep Singh back to PBKS for Rs 13.5cr

Shami wasn’t the only Indian pacer who went back to his previous franchise via the RTM rule. Arshdeep Singh, who is likely to be the costliest Indian bowler in Jeddah, was bought by the IPL 2024 champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Rs 12 crore. But then, unsurprisingly, the Punjab Kings (PBKS), with their massive budget of Rs 110.50cr utilised the RTM rule and got back Arshdeep for Rs 13.50cr.
