“Si la serie sale mal…”: Harbhajan Singh advierte a Gautam Gambhir antes de BGT

Harbhajan Singh cree que la paciencia de Gautam Gambhir se pondrá a prueba en el Trofeo Border-Gavaskar, mientras India busca recuperarse de su histórica serie en Nueva Zelanda.

India head coach Gautam Gambhir faces a crucial challenge in the upcoming India vs Australia Test series, as stated by former cricketer Harbhajan Singh. Speaking ahead of the series, Harbhajan talks about the immense pressure Gambhir is under after India’s historic 0-3 home series defeat against New Zealand. He warns that Gambhir’s patience and composure will be very crucial for India’s success in the BorderGavaskar Trophy.

India, led by Rohit Sharma and coached by Gambhir, suffered their first-ever Test series whitewash at home against New Zealand. The Indian team struggled against both New Zealand’s spinners and batters, exposing flaws in their approach.

Harbhajan’s take on Gambhir’s challenge

Speaking on Jatin Sapru’s YouTube channel, Harbhajan said that Gambhir will need to stay calm despite the mounting pressure. “Running a big team is never easy. If the results were fine, everyone would praise him. But the series against Australia will test Gambhir’s patience and his ability to stay composed,” Harbhajan said.

He pointed out that sitting on the sidelines can be frustrating, especially for someone like Gambhir, who is used to being in the thick of action. “He cannot control much from the outside. Gambhir needs to pass this test. If the series doesn’t go well, he will face even more scrutiny. I hope he remains calm and the team delivers a strong performance,” Harbhajan added.

India’s selection woes

India are set to begin their Border-Gavaskar Trophy campaign in Perth on November 22. However, the team faces significant selection concerns. Skipper Rohit Sharma will miss the opening game, Shubman Gill is sidelined with an injury, and the backup batters have failed to impress in the tour matches.

The upcoming series is a chance for Gambhir and the team to redeem themselves after the New Zealand debacle. With high expectations from fans, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy promises to be a stern test of character for both players and the support staff.
