New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra is eager to translate his recent ODI World Cup and IPL success into a strong performance in the upcoming Test series against India. The Black Caps face a daunting task in their three-Test series against the juggernaut of India, starting on October 16 in Bengaluru. Despite not having a warm-up match, the team’s recent experience in Sri Lanka, albeit a losing effort, has provided some acclimatization to subcontinental conditions.

Rachin Ravindra, a key member of the New Zealand squad, believes that his success in the 2023 ODI World Cup and subsequent IPL stint with Chennai Super Kings (CK) this year can serve as a springboard for success in the Test series. While acknowledging the differences between formats, Ravindra emphasized the confidence gained from performing well in India’s vibrant cricketing atmosphere.

“Although it is different formats, it gives you confidence that you can perform in this part of the world, although conditions will most likely be different,” Ravindra stated in the pre-match press conference, as per PTI. “It’s more managing the crowd and the expectations of the people because we know how passionate Indian people are about cricket. So it feels like if you’re able to do it a couple of times hopefully you’ll be able to do it in a Test series.”
