The IPL 2025 Mega Auction will likely follow a two-day format similar to the 2022 auction, which was held in February. While the exact date has not yet been confirmed, fans can expect the event to occur in the window of November 2024 to December 2024. The official announcement regarding the specific dates will be made by the IPL governing council closer to the event.

Even though there is no official confirmation from the BCCI or the IPL Governing Council, it seems like the IPL 2025 auction will be held in the month of November this time around. There is no official word on the IPL 2025 auction venue either, but if media reports are to be believed, the IPL 2025 mega auction will take place in the Middle East with Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh currently leading the race to brag about the hosting rights of the mega-auction.
IPL Auction to clash with Border Gavaskar Trophy
To note, the first Test between Australia and India begins on Nov 22. Notably, the BGT series will be shown on Disney Star, who are also the official broadcasters of the Indian Premier League. Thus, all parties want to avoid any overlap. Although due to the time difference with Australia, there is unlikely to be any clash. The auction is expected to commence in the afternoon, as per Indian Standard Time (IST).
