Jurassic World Dominion Cast & Character Guide

The Jurassic World Dominion cast brought together the two ensembles of characters from the current trilogy as well as the original. Directed by Colin Trevorrow from a screenplay he co-wrote with Emily Carmichael, Jurassic World Dominion marks the final film in the trilogy and the sixth installment in the Jurassic Park franchise. It wraps up a story that first began in Steven Spielberg’s 1993 film and brings back plenty of familiar faces from the original for the Jurassic World 3 cast.

Set four years after Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Jurassic World Dominion explores a world that is shared by humans and dinosaurs alike. Dinosaur black markets have cropped up, poachers hunt the prehistoric creatures, and locusts are destroying harvests around the globe. Meanwhile, the villainous Jurassic Park rival Biosyn returns for more corporate wrongdoing. For the final adventure, Jurassic World Dominion brought back a few characters from Jurassic Park joining the new heroes of the Jurassic World trilogy. With iconic names, modern blockbuster stars and some fun newcomers, the Jurassic World 3 cast dives into the dino adventure.

Chris Pratt

As Owen Grady

Character: Owen Grady is a former employee of Jurassic World who is skilled at training Velociraptors. Since the events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Owen has been hiding out in the wilderness with girlfriend Claire and their adoptive daughter Maisie. When Maisie is taken by Biosyn operatives, Owen goes on a globetrotting quest to get her back, giving him the opportunity to show off more of his heroics.

Actor: Owen is portrayed by Chris Pratt, who first won fan’s hearts as Andy Dwyer in Parks and Recreation. Pratt is best known as Star-Lord in the MCU, a role he recently returned to in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. He has also appeared in The Tomorrow War, Passengers, and The Lego Movie while recently making a return to television in the thriller The Terminal List. Pratt also voiced Mario in The Super Mario Bros. Movie and will next be seen in The Electric State opposite Millie Bobby Brown.

Bryce Dallas Howard

As Claire Dearing

Character: Claire Dearing is the former manager of Jurassic World. After the closing of the park, Claire went on to found the Dinosaur Protection Group and spends much of her time rescuing dinosaurs from illegal captivity. In Jurassic World Dominion, Claire lives in the woods with Owen and Maisie, of whom she is very protective. She joins Owen as they set out to rescue Maisie which eventually brings them to the Biosyn facility.

Actor: Claire is played by Bryce Dallas Howard, who had her breakout role in M. Night Shyamalan’s The Village. She is best known for her roles in Rocketman, Black Mirror, Pete’s Dragon, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and The Help. She recently headlined the star-studded spy action-comedy Argylle, alongside Sam Rockwell and Henry Cavill. She will next be seen alongside Sean Bean and Orlando Bloom in the crime-comedy Deep Cover and she will be making her feature directorial debut in All of Her.

Laura Dern

As Dr. Ellie Sattler

Character: Dr. Ellie Sattler is a paleobotanist who was in the original Jurassic Park. Though she returned for a small cameo in Jurassic Park 3, this is her first return to the dinosaur action since the original movie. In Jurassic World Dominion, Ellie has been researching Biosyn, which she believes is using engineered locusts to feed on harvests around the globe. She recruits her friends to infiltrate the company, leading to the long-awaited reunion of Ellie Sattler and Alan Grant.

Actor: Ellie Sattler is once again portrayed by Laura Dern. Dern is an Oscar-winning actor for her role in Marriage Story while she has been nominated twice before for Wild and Rambling Rose. She has starred in everything from acclaimed indies like Blue Velvet to big franchise projects like Star Wars: The Last Jedi to hit shows like Big Little Lies. Since returning to her iconic role in Jurassic World Dominion, Dern has appeared in the series Palm Royale and recently starred in the romance movie Lonely Planet.

Jeff Goldblum

As Dr. Ian Malcolm

Character: Dr. Ian Malcolm is a mathematician in chaos theory who worked alongside Ellie and Alan Grant in the original Jurassic Park. He’s been adamant that dinosaurs and humans will have to coexist together or risk extinction. In Jurassic World Dominion, Ian is an in-house philosopher at Biosyn though he is secretly working to expose the illegal and dangerous activities the company has been up to.

Actor: Ian Malcolm is played by Jeff Goldblum, who is most famous for his roles in David Cronenberg’s The Fly, Independence Day, and the MCU film Thor: Ragnarok. He is also known as a frequent collaborator of filmmaker Wes Anderson, having appeared in The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and Asteroid City. Goldblum recently starred in the Netflix fantasy series Kaos, which was canceled after its first season. He will next be seen in the cast of the musical Wicked.

Sam Neill

As Dr. Alan Grant

Character: Dr. Alan Grant is a paleontologist who was one of the first visitors to Jurassic Park in the original film. In Jurassic World Dominion, Alan is recruited by Ellie to go to Biosyn, and he works alongside her and Ian to figure out what to do. The movie finds Grant meeting the new generation of heroes in the Jurassic World franchise, with Owen and Maisie even teaching him how to train the raptors.

Actor: Alan Grant is portrayed by Sam Neill, who is best known for his roles in Event Horizon, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, The Piano, Peaky Blinders, The Jungle Book, The Horse Whisperer, and Alcatraz. Most recently, Neill starred alongside Annette Benning in the miniseries Apples Never Fall. He also appeared in the MCU as the actor playing Odin in Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: Love and Thunder.

DeWanda Wise

As Kayla Watts

Character: Kayla Watts is a former Air Force pilot who is paid to smuggle goods to Biosyn. However, she decides to help Claire and Owen find the kidnapped Maisie, flying them to the facility and helping them fend off the dinosaurs. Watts makes for another impressive action hero for the franchise, proving herself up against some deadly dinosaurs when they cause her plane to crash land on the Biosyn island location.

Actor: Kayla is played by DeWanda Wise, who is best known for her roles in The Harder They Fall, the Netflix romantic comedy Someone Great, Shots Fired, the TV series She’s Gotta Have It, and Underground. She recently appeared alongside Chris Pine in his directorial debut, Poolman as well as the 2024 horror movie Imaginary. She will next be seen alongside Bill Pullman and Guy Pearce in the starring role of the period thriller Killing Faith.

Campbell Scott

As Dr. Lewis Dodgson

Character: Dr. Lewis Dodgson is the CEO of Biosyn, a genetic company that creates a sanctuary for dinosaurs that are caught roaming. Serving as the villain of the movie, Dodgson is the kind of bad guy who thinks he is doing the right thing but will go to evil lengths to ensure he gets what he wants. He’s also responsible for the ecological disaster threatening the world. In Jurassic Park, Lewis hired Dennis Nedry to steal dinosaur embryos. Dodgson’s death in Jurassic World 3 mirrors Nedry’s as he is killed by a group of dilophosaurs.

Actor: Lewis Dodgson is portrayed by Campbell Scott, who is known for his roles in Billions, House of Cards, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, and Royal Pains. He also had a small cameo in The Amazing Spider-Man movies as Richard Parker, the father of Peter Parker who is at the center of the biggest mysteries of the franchise.

Mamoudou Athie

As Ramsay Cole

Character: Ramsay Cole is the head of communications for Biosyn and a protégé of Lewis Dodgson but with a moral compass. Though it is a brief role only playing a significant part in the third act of the movie, Ramsay quickly proves himself to be a hero of the franchise and has more courage than it initially seemed. He eventually pushes back against his boss’ megalomaniacal ways and helps the heroes escape the facility.

Actor: Ramsay is played by Mamoudou Athie, who is most famous for his role in Underwater, The Burial, The Circle, and The Get Down. He continues to be an up-and-coming performer, lending his voice to the lead role in Pixar’s Elemental while also appearing alongside Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons in the cast of Kinds of Kindness. His star continues to rise as he will appear alongside Zendaya and Robert Pattinson in The Drama.

BD Wong

As Dr. Henry Wu

Character: Dr. Henry Wu is a geneticist and the head of the dinosaur cloning process in the overall Jurassic Park franchise. He was first introduced in the original Jurassic Park in a small role as one of the key scientists working for John Hammond at the park. While he has been something of a secondary villain in the new trilogy, Jurassic World Dominion gives him redemption as Henry tries to do right by joining up with Owen, Claire, and the rest of their group and solving the locust dilemma.

Actor: Henry Wu is portrayed by BD Wong, who is known for his roles as Whiterose in Mr. Robot, Shang in the animated Mulan, and Father of the Bride. He has also appeared in a number of iconic series, including Oz, Law & Order Special Victims Unit, and Gotham, in which he played DC villain Hugo Strange.

Isabella Sermon

As Maisie Lockwood

Character: Maisie Lockwood returns to the cast of Jurassic World Dominion after being introduced in the franchise in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. While it is initially thought that she was the granddaughter of Benjamin Lockwood, a geneticist who worked alongside John Hammon at Jurassic Park, it is revealed she is actually the clone of his late daughter, Charlotte. After helping to feel the dinosaurs in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Maisie is shown to be living as the adopted daughter of Owen and Claire while being hunted by Biosyn.

Actor: Maisie is played by Isabella Sermon, who also portrays a young Charlotte. Just beginning her career in the acting world, Sermon hasn’t had any roles outside of the Jurassic World franchise yet. She made her movie debut in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, while Jurassic World Dominion was her second movie and only other project to date.

Jurassic World Supporting Cast & Characters

Omar Sy as Barry Sembène – Barry was a Velociraptor trainer who worked alongside Owen, but later moved on to work for French intelligence. Omar Sy is best known for his role in the Netflix series Lupin, Jurassic World, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Murphy’s Law, and The Intouchables.

Justice Smith as Franklin Webb – Franklin is a former technician at Jurassic World turned dinosaur rights activist who helps Claire find illegally captured dinos. Justice Smith is best known for his roles in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Paper Towns, All the Bright Places, Prime Video’s The Voyeurs, and the Netflix series The Get Down. He recently starred in the adventure movie Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

Scott Haze as Rainn Delacourt – Rainn is a poacher who works for Biosyn and is tasked with kidnapping Maisie. Scott Haze is known for his roles in Child of God, Old Henry, 12 Mighty Orphans, Venom, and Minari. He was recently seen alongside the massive cast of Kevin Costner’s epic Horizon: An American Saga.

Dichen Lachman as Soyona Santos – Santos is a dinosaur smuggler who also contracts with Biosyn. Dichen Lachman is known for her roles in Severance, Animal Kingdom, Shameless, The 100, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.

Daniella Pineda as Dr. Zia Rodriguez – Zia is a paleo-veterinarian who also works alongside Claire to save dinosaurs from captivity. Daniella Pineda is most famous for playing Sophie Deveraux on The Vampire Diaries and its spin-off show The Originals. She was also in the live-action Cowboy Bebop and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Elva Trill as Charlotte Lockwood – Charlotte Lockwood is a geneticist, the daughter of Benjamin Lockwood and the mother of her clone Maisie. In Jurassic World Dominion, Charlotte appears in video diaries she created. Elva Trill is best known for her roles in Line of Duty.
