Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria has slammed Pakistan for threatening India over their refusal to travel for Champions Trophy 2025. ICC informed the PCB about India’s refusal to travel to the neighbouring nation following which Pakistan has resorted to issuing various threats. Kaneria slammed Pakistan, asking what would they achieve by dragging India to the Court of Arbitration (CAS).

As per IANS, Danish Kaneria pointed out that the issue between India and Pakistan was ongoing for a long time and that the option of hybrid model was always available. He further claimed that there was always uncertainty over security in Pakistan and said that the risk is higher for the visiting Indian team.
“If Pakistan go to the international court (CAS) what will they achieve out of it? There’s always the uncertainty of security in Pakistan. International teams are coming but security concerns are much higher with the Indian team,” Kaneria said.

Kaneria further suggested both BCCI and PCB to come together to held talks and take a swift decision on the matter. He urged Pakistan to accept the hybrid model, noting that the similar approach was followed for Asia Cup. Kaneria opined that India should play their matches in Dubai while Pakistan continues to host the rest of Champions Trophy 2025.
Pakistan’s threats amid CT 2025 row
Dragging India to court for refusing to travel to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025 was one of the threats issued by Pakistan. The other threats include withdrawing from the tournament if a hybrid model is adopted, boycotting future ICC events where India will be participating in and writing a letter to the ICC seeking clarity on why India refused to travel to Pakistan. Reports also suggested that the ICC was willing to move Champions Trophy 2025 to South Africa or UAE if Pakistan refuses to accept the hybrid model.
