El presidente de la Asociación de Cricket de Bengala (CAB) dijo que le escribió a Venky Mysore y al presidente de IPL sobre el escenario de Eden Gardens.
The Kolkata Knight Riders matches will be held at the iconic Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata for IPL 2025. Dismissing all the rumors of matches shifting to other venues, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) President Snehasish Ganguly has made his point clear.
The news had made headlines that Eden Gardens is undergoing renovations. But now the CAB President has made it clear that all such news is false. In fact, the Stadium hasn’t got the green light from the Army to conduct any outside renovations.

CAB Prez confirms KKR matches to take place at Eden Gardens
“I saw a news report where the secretary of Tripura saying a new stadium is coming up and some of the KKR matches would be held there. I don’t think KKR will agree to that, because no one wants to leave Eden Gardens. Maybe one match is okay. This year we have the opening ceremony and the finals,” CAB President Snehasish Ganguly told RevSportz.
Reports from the media claimed that Tripura in their new stadium is ready to host quite a few IPL 2025 matches of the Kolkata Knight Riders. Snehasish Ganguly claimed that the turnup and support that KKR receives at Eden Gardens is unmatched and thus all KKR matches will take place at the iconic stadium.
“I had a telephonic conversation with Venky Mysore. He was also not sure about this news. I wrote a letter to him clarifying everything, where we stand and we aren’t doing any renovation. I also gave a letter to Mr. Arun Dhumal regarding the situation,” he added.
He further claimed that he had a conversation with KKR CEO Venky Mysore. He then went on to write a letter to him. Along with the same, Ganguly has also written a letter to Mr. Arun Dhumal who is the chairman of the IPL.
“You can’t deny a 65,000 crowd. Even before last season during KKR’s bad days, every match was houseful. We don’t have any program for renovation. For any such work, it needs 2 years of time as the approval of the Amry is needed. Till now the lease hasn’t been renewed so we haven’t got any green signal from the Army to do any sort of outside renovation,” Snehasish Ganguly concluded.
