This is a historic move as she became the first-ever female auctioneer to conduct an IPL auction. Now, she becomes the first female to do it for two consecutive seasons.

Her expertise is just sports, having worked with renowned art galleries and consulting firms, such as Pundoles and Art India Consultants.
Mallika Sagar’s appointment shows that the BCCI is wooing away the traditional male-dominated auctioneer landscape. Previous IPL auctions have been conducted by notable auctioneers such as Richard Madley, Hugh Edmeades, and Charu Sharma.
