Aaryavir Sehwag smashed a double hundred for Delhi in the game against Meghalaya in Cooch Behar trophy. He stayed unbeaten on 200 at stumps on Day 2, with Delhi leading by 208 runs in the 1st innings.

Just like his father, Aaryavir Sehwag believes in dealing in boundaries in the longest format of the game. He smashed 34 fours and two sixes en route to his 200-run knock, with a strike rate of 87.34. Sehwag’s son made his debut in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy and made an instant impact. He went on to score 49 runs, helping Delhi pick up a 6-wicket win against Manipur in the U-19 competition.

Aaryavir’s fellow opener Arnav Bugga also went on to score a ton and was dismissed for 114 runs. The duo of Sehwag’s son and his partner went on to stitch together a partnership of 180 runs before Meghalaya found their first breakthrough.
Sehwag wants his son to play in IPL
Last year, Virender Sehwag had said that his son is already working extremely hard to be in the IPL in the coming years.
“The IPL has benefited young talent the most. Earlier, nobody got noticed for Ranji Trophy performances and hence couldn’t make it to the Indian team. But now, if you perform well in the IPL and you showcase your talent, then immediately, you get an opportunity to play for the Indian team,” Sehwag said.
