Speaking after the end of play on Day 1, Nitish Reddy revealed that Gambhir had asked him to treat a bouncer like “taking a bullet for the country”. He said that the ex-Indian cricketer had told him to just play any bouncer over his shoulder, adding that it was the “best thing”.

“I was having a chat with Gautam Gambhir sir. He told me, any bouncer just play it over your shoulder. Take it like a bullet for your country. That’s the best thing,” Nitish Reddy said.
