India will target their first medal at the Paris Paralympics 2024 on 30 August (Friday) as on Day 2, Avani Lekhara competes in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 Qualification. Avani, who clinched gold in this event at the Tokyo Games three years ago, will also vie for a medal in the final if she qualifies. Manish Narwal, who won gold in Mixed 50m Pistol SH1 in Tokyo, will also be a strong contender in the Men’s 10m Air Pistol SH1 category.
Rifle events to look at
Sriharsha Devaraddi Ramakrishna will compete in the Mixed 10m Air Rifle Standing SH2 event, while Jyoti Karam, Sakshi Kasana, Preethi Pal, and Manu will aim for medals in their respective athletic events.
In archery, Sarita will face Nur Jannaton Abdul Jalil from Malaysia in the Round of 32. Meanwhile, several shuttlers, including Manasi Joshi and defending champion Krishna Nagar, will participate in group-stage matches.
