A week before the India vs Bangladesh Test series starts, players in contention to make the squad will assemble in Chennai. The 1st Test, which will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on September 19, and the preparatory camp for the 2-match series will be held on September 12, according to ESPNcricinfo.
A BCCI source previously told InsideSport that the squad for the India vs. Bangladesh Tests will be announced after the first round of the Duleep Trophy. With multiple international stars in action, it makes complete sense that the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) wants to see how players in contention make the Test side perform.
“Test squad is all set. It is about filling up two or three spots. Ajit and his team will watch the Duleep Trophy and then they will decide on the few available spots. Yes, Virat and Rohit both will play in the Test series. This is a new cycle and they need to get into that red-ball zone before the Australia tour,” a BCCI official had told InsideSport last month.
Two matches (Team A vs B and Team C vs D) will simultaneously begin from September 5-8. Following that, the squads will be announced, and then the camp will take place in Chennai.
