Did Babar Azam plot Shaheen Afridi’s removal as skipper?

The journalist claimed that the batter had assure the pacer that he had no ambitions of being skipper despite knowing that he was going to be named captain. He added that a member of the team management decided to keep Shaheen in the dark about the developments.

The move to replace Shaheen with Babar as skipper drew a lot of flak, especially after Pakistan were knocked out of the T20 WC in the group stage. Their embarrassing campaign included a loss to the USA cricket team as well.
