Reports of Explosions Emerge Amid Heightened Tensions
Multiple reports of simultaneous explosions have emerged from various locations in Caracas, including areas housing military installations, during a moment of intense political and military tension.
According to eyewitnesses, explosions were reported near La Carlota military airbase, located in central Caracas, as well as at Fort Tiuna, the country’s main military complex. Videos allegedly showing explosions at both sites are circulating widely on social media, though their authenticity has not yet been independently verified.

Several surrounding neighborhoods have reportedly experienced power outages, adding to the uncertainty. There are also unconfirmed reports of aircraft taking off over the city, raising further concern about the unfolding situation.
These developments come amid escalating tensions between the United States and Venezuela. Washington has recently intensified military operations in the Caribbean, targeting what it claims are fast-moving boats involved in drug trafficking.
The United States maintains that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was not legitimately elected and has accused him of personal involvement in drug trafficking operations passing through Venezuela.
The Venezuelan government, however, has strongly rejected these allegations, asserting that recent U.S. actions — including the seizure of sanctioned oil tankers — are part of a broader strategy aimed at removing President Maduro from power and gaining control over Venezuela’s vast oil reserves.
As of now, no official confirmation has been issued regarding the cause or extent of the reported explosions.
