Diogo Jota passed away just weeks after marrying Rute Cardoso in June.
The widow of footballer Diogo Jota has thanked Liverpool fans for their “love” during “this incredibly difficult time” following his death in a car accident.
Rute Cardoso posted a message on Instagram after two of the couple’s three children led a tribute before Liverpool’s match against Wolves on Saturday.
Their sons, Dinis and Duarte, joined the matchday mascots on the Anfield pitch before the Premier League game on Saturday. Jota had played for both clubs.
The 28-year-old Portuguese forward died in a car accident in Spain in July, alongside his 25-year-old brother, Andre Silva.
